I was supposed to write about my first month working for WTD, but in typical Andy fashion, I’ve been procrastinating and now it’s closer to 2 months. So this is my official Two Month Anniversary at WTD Blog Entry. (What’s the gift for 2-month anniversaries? Poster board?)
Anyway, so far it’s been a wild ride. A wild ride. I’ve learned a lot about the business, from where Rob keeps the pencils to how Deals are made (they’re flown to us by a magical stork) (named Jarcho). By writing write-ups I’ve become a better writer, and now I know not to write my writings redundantly. From a graphic design point of view, I’ve relished the opportunities to draw for the website, whether it’s “How To” comic strips that demonstrate, in clear metaphorical terms, why anthropomorphic fruit should not be given credit cards, or caricatures of the WTD staff that never get posted to the website no matter how long it took me to draw them.
What else, what else… By programming content I’ve become more skillful with HTML, which of course stands for “Hot Tranny Mess Loving”. I’m really good at that. In assuming more responsibility than I had in my early “freelance” days, I’ve been given clearance to the top secret back-end web editing portal at So What’s The Deal, which is great. I’ve planted my Omega virus which will render the site completely hilarious by the time I’m done writing this blog. Most importantly, by joining the WTD team as a part-time writer guy, I’ve learned the joys of working from home (Pants are a thing of the past!).
On a more serious note, it’s been great working for WTD. I get to write silly stuff and bring great Deals to the people, all while sharing laughs with an awesome staff and learning about cool businesses in DC. This is definitely way more fun than my last job as a Corpse Dumper for the morgue!
Thanks for 2 great months, WTD! Here’s to many more!
